Pursuant to the Education Development Strategy in Serbia until 2020 and Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy, the Ministry of Education, Science and technological development plans to modernize curricula, as well as their alignment with the educational goals and outcomes. Therefore, in the period from 2017 to 2019, the revision of existing educational curricula for primary and secondary schools will be successively implemented. Teaching sections of SGS, in cooperation with the Institute for Improvement of Education launches initiative for teachers of geography, within its geographic assets and branches throughout Serbia, to present their proposals of such changes. The idea is that the presidents of assets and branches collect proposals at meetings of teachers from primary and secondary schools in conjunction with the amendments to the existing educational plans and programs, and on the basis of the collected material shape the final draft amendments. The final draft amendments should be submitted by the presidents of assets and branches, by the end of June, to this mail address: sjovanovic@gef.bg.ac.rs. Sent proposals will be advertised on the site of SGS, and will represent the working material on the basis of which the Commission will prepare a SGS’s final draft amendments. Not only geography teachers will be included in changes in the activity of educational plans and programs of geography for elementary and secondary schools, but also higher education geographical institutions. The idea is that a team from the ranks of SGS, which will be included in the revision of existing educational curricula for primary and secondary school, is ready to welcome the official start of the announced activities that will be managed by the Institute for Advancement of Education.
Hoping that the cooperation will be successful,
With respect,
